There are no magical weight loss secrets. Most people in North American are chromium deficient.  They also do not participate in healthy weight loss diets.  This mineral is essential to maintaining proper blood sugar levels and the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats.  This in turn can help with weight loss as well as losing body fat.  Studies have shown that chromium can lower body mass while increasing lean muscle mass by increasing insulin sensitivity.  Improving insulin sensitivity is important in a weight loss program.  Losing insulin sensitivity can result in obesity.

Chromium works hand in hand with insulin in transporting of glucose into the cells for metabolism.  Without chromium, blood sugar levels can elevate and blocks insulin’s effectiveness.  Adding chromium as a supplement into one’s diet has been shown to improve tolerance to glucose, normalize insulin levels.  It also can increase good cholesterol as well as reduce total cholesterol and triglyceride levels.  One study revealed that men taking chromium lost an average of seven times more body fat than those taking a placebo.

Adding a supplement like chromium along with a senseable personal workout routine can go a long way to a happy and healthy life.  Now go do it!
