Fast Ways To Lose Weight – 3 Weight Loss Myths You Need To Be Aware

Do you regularly peruse health magazines looking for fast ways to lose weight?  Some tips works while other don’t.  So how do you lose weight without wasting time trying all the worthless methods?  Fad diets, weight loss supplements, and pills generally do not help people achieve permanent weight loss.  Diet and exercise are sure fast ways to lose weight that help everyone.  The weight loss industry, however, is laden with myths and misleading information that may lead you astray.

Here are three myths of fast ways to lose weight:

First, many people proclaim that spot reduction of fat is possible.  In fact, it is not, and this is not among the prefer way to lose weight.  You cannot force your body to reduce your fat in certain place no matter how hard you try or what types of workouts you do.  If you only do crunches and leg lifts in hope of reducing your belly fat, you’ll find yourself reducing the muscle mass beneath the abdomen instead.  Rather than focusing on spot reduction of fat, follow a healthy diet that will speed up your metabolic rate which will surely help you burn fat faster.

Secondly, many people haunted by the question “how do you lose weight?” falsely believe that drastically cutting their calories intake will reduce their body fat.  However, this more often leads to crash dieting, binging, and weight gain!  So, instead of helping you to lose weight, this actually harms your body.  When you starve or fast, your body goes into starvation mode, slowing down your metabolic rate and burning your muscles instead of your fat.  Instead of losing fat then, you lose your muscles.  And once you return to your normal diet, you’ll ask “how do you lose weight?” again because you’ll gain all those pounds back.

Thirdly, many people believe that cardio exercises are among the fast ways to lose weight.  It is true that cardio exercises can help you lose fat, but this is not the only exercise that can help you to achieve your weight loss goal.  Aerobics are equally helpful in burning fat.  And, weight lifting is even better because it helps your burn fat while building muscles.

Next time someone asks “how do you lose weight?”, don’t answer spot reduction of fat, reducing calorie intake, or cardio exercises.  The fast ways to lose weight are healthy dieting and regular exercise.
